I liked this mystery more than [b:What She Knew|25817531|What She Knew (Jim Clemo #1)|Gilly Macmillan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1441801604s/25817531.jpg|41344566]. I thought it moved at a decent pace and kept me interested enough to really want to keep listening. There weren't any twists in this book, but it was a wholesome murder mystery if you like your murders clean and simple.

Zoe and Lucas are child prodigies with secrets that no teenager should have to bear. Thrown together in a what Zoe calls her second chance family by the marriage of their parents who together had baby Grace. This seemingly perfect family soon starts to unravel when Zoe's secret is revealed at a public piano concert. The events that follow soon show that all is not what it seems. A fast paced story that quickly goes from perfection to horror and keeps you guessing. What secrets we keep and the price we pay when we hide our lives from those around us. The Perfect Girl will pull you in and keep you reading till the end. This was the first book I've read by Gilly Macmillan but it want be the last! A must read for character driven suspense readers like me.

Captivating read. There was a lot of detail, considering the book basically covered less than 24 hours. I thought the actual resolution was a bit flat compared to how the author led the reader up to that point. I recommend it and would read another by this author.

Loved this and read it in just 2 multi-hour sessions. Interesting twists and intriguing plot

Eh. This was kind of a "Why bother?" book. The mystery wasn't great, the ending was boring, and one of the POV characters was completely unnecessary.

For whatever reason, it took me forever to get through the book (nearly 3 years). It's a story of a girl (Zoe) who's first accused of a crime and then the mystery surrounds the death of her mother. Although the exact sequence of events was not predictable, the gist of the crime somewhat was (notably that Lucas, and not Chris, was truly responsible for the murder). I don't remember the beginning of the book particularly well anymore.
