This book had some very great stories, stories of love, hope, and most of all Christmas spirit. Many of the stories in this book are very heart-warming and a great read for the Christmas season. However, some of the stories in the book seemed irrelevant to me and did not bring the Christmas spirit I was hoping for. This book is definitely a great Christmas read, but was a little rocky in some of the stories.

Cute and quick read. Lots of important lessons and times to reflect on. Sometimes faith is a common theme which I could do without

Chicken Soup for the Soul books are always very powerful, and this is no exception. I think a lot of us forget how recent desegregation is...it's only sixty years since Ruby Bridges walked into school, and there are plenty of stories here from earlier than that. This book shines a bright, very uncomfortable light on the horrific things many people went through and still go through every day.

I'm astounded by the strength and resilience and courage of the people in these stories. They should never have to display them like this, but they do and I'm amazed. It's incredible the things they bear up under.

Like with all collections, some stories are better than others, but none of them are less than fascinating. I'm so glad I was able to read it, and I hope it'll make me a better ally in the future.

The Hook - Why? Because these stories make me feel good.

The Line - ”Thirty-five years of monogamy had ended, and after two years of grief and recovery I realized I wanted to see—once again—the radiant smile of a man as he approached me, that look of delight and desire usually relegated to young boys spying a plate of chocolate chip cookies.
from Never Too Late for Romance: The Price of a Smile S. Ann Robinson “

The Sinker - With 101 stories, there are always several that touch me, make me smile, bring back memories, cause the tears to flow, in each Chicken Soup for the Soul compilation. This one was no exception. I try to read at least one day. The stories always lift my mood, even those that are sad. They remind that we’re all here for life’s journey, and that though every day is not perfect, most are a gift. The authors that are chosen to be part of the Chicken Soup family get it. Thank you all for many years of inspiration, humor and wisdom.

Though many stories stood out I always like to mention just one. A favorite in this edition was

Love Online from Never too Late for Romance as told by Phyllis W. Zeno
First lines ”Love at eighty-two? Highly unlikely! But two years ago, I found it on the Internet.” This online meeting eventually leads to marriage. On their first anniversary they attend the wedding of their granddaughter. Grandma reads First Corinthians and as she looks across the congregation at Harvey these words fill her soul
”If I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing…And now these three remain—faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

Didn’t get to finish the book because it was long overdue from the library, but the stories I did read, I enjoyed and some even made me very emotional. Love cats.

I know better, I know better, I KNOW BETTER than to pick up any of these "Chicken Soup" books. I'm marking this as read but really I skimmed it. America's fascination with overly sentimental rubbish is perverse, and only beleaguers us with such novelists as Mitch Albom- because they know their garbage will be bought. Stop the insanity, people!
