It was good, I think
the ending was a little anticlimactic
. But overall I found it easy to read and intriguing.
I liked Emily’s character and finding out about that night

Kind of dropped off, I didn't care by the middle.

Chosen one but modern setting, reminded me of the "39 Clues" series but less intense.

this book gave me what i needed. an easy-to-read, mysterious, funny, romantic book filled with plot-twists. was it the best book i’ve ever read? no, but it was enjoyable. i really enjoyed all the secrets the hawthorne house had to offer, with hidden passages and symbols around every corner. it fufilled my childhood dream of having a house with a secret tunnel to each room. what captivated me the most was probably the romantic side plots and constant indecisiveness about which brother i wanted avery to end up with. i think the author did this well without losing the plot throughout the book. i’m very excited to start the second book of the series ‘the hawthorne legacy’ after reading the teaser of the first 3 chapters in the inheritance games. this book is good if you’re wanting to get out of a reading slump or to indulge in the billionaire lifestyle on the side.overall, i’ve given this book a 3.75 star rating as i felt that it didn’t really stand out to me or connect with me enough to rate it any higher.

The only reason this isn't a 4 star rating is because I felt that it was a bit predictable. Granted, if I read this 12-15 years ago, it might not feel as predictable. I blame watching tons of murder mystery shows...
Don't worry murder is not actually part of this book
.

This book is so good. I never really read mystery novels but I literally couldn’t put this book down. It never had a dull moment and I always had to immediately read the next chapter! 110% recommend and now I’m going to force my best friend to read it too!

Perfect for fans of The Naturals, Truly Devious, and A Study in Charlotte!

Jennifer Lynn-Barnes truly knows how to write a story! The narrative was exhilarating and full of puzzles, hideaways, and smart, hot guys (grayson mf davenport supremacy). I loved this author’s more underrated series The Naturals a few months ago and this was just as fun! I could not seriously put this down, and the characters are effortlessly loveable! Avery is without a doubt now one of my favorite fmcs, and the boys are just as perfect with their equally charismatic personalities. I had very high expectations for this series because her writing doesn’t disappoint and suffice to say they were met. I can’t comprehend the fact that so much secret was packed into one book, but it was written really well.

TEAM GRAYSON DAVENPORT HAWTHORNE BTW I REALLY JUST HAVE A TYPE
