Never brought my expectations down. :) It was a great read. Had a new-found respect for Cole. :)

I can't believe the way this ended. I was bored to tears throughout the length of this book, but still, happily thinking to myself: "Oh, this is going to end well, there's going to be a happy ending."

People, I'm seriously mad, the ending of this series was seriously infuriating!!! Nikki and Jack's relationship, I honestly didn't feel it on this book. Cole was a bastard, but I just couldn't help simpatize with him or even wish he had his own happy ending...
And then there's the ending of Evertrue!!! I didn't see that coming. But after "that" happened I was waiting for a some kind of conclusion, where you see the happily-ever-after, instead you get:

- "THE F****** END", goodbye, adios, auf wiedersehen, adieu, f*** off. Yes, that's how the ending of Evertrue felt to me.

Even if I did love Everneath and Everbound, Evertrue ruined everything.

I liked this book more than the second in the series, although I think that there was less action than there should be. It felt like the characters were fumbling around quite a bit and the climax of the story... didn't really happen. Parts which should be really sad or really joyous fell a little flat.

Overall, I'm glad I read the series, but it's not a favorite and I'm not likely to read it again.

**This review contains spoilers about the outcome of the Nikki-Cole-Jack love triangle although I think we all already know how that works out but just in case--**

This was easily the slowest book of the three, so I guess it's good that it was the last one. Everything felt very...convenient. Everything wrapped up so neatly and with a pretty little bow and yay everything's okay.

I felt literally nothing except for the last ten pages of the book. And I maintain my utter indifference to Jack. Cole is my jam and all that proves is that I have A Type when it comes to fictional men. As in, in every single instance of a love triangle, I will without a doubt choose the man that eventually loses the girl.

RIP the dream.

I read this book fully expecting to like it and found myself disappointed. The first book in this series was just okay but the second book was pretty good. Therefore, I figured this was one of those series that got better as it went along. Unfortunately, not so.

The first part of Everture was quite boring with the characters running around in general confusion but not much else was going on. Thankfully, the last bit of the book picked up enough to make me remember why I originally liked the series.

Besides a very slow start, the book relied heavily on lucky coincidences. For some reason, the author made the character's main objective, destroying the Everneath, desperately hard. Since the Everneath is a fictional world, I'm not sure why the author did this. Not only was the objective near impossible, but the characters had very few resources/talents themselves. Therefore, anything the character's accomplished was with astoundingly beyond-belief good fortune.

The characters themselves were a little below par. Becks was an annoying heroine due to whining and a doom-and-gloom attitude (although the attitude might have been justified due to what she was up against). Like in the previous books, she wasn't the most moral character.
SpoilerKissing Cole to make Jack jealous so he could rip off a door was plain wrong.
The change in Cole was slightly unbelievable and Jack was still too dang perfect.

There were good parts to this book. For some strange reason, this author has the ability to make flashback memories just as interesting, if not more so, than the main storyline. Also, there was some fun dialogue between the characters. Despite not being the biggest fan of this book, I liked the second one enough to give a future book written by this author a chance.

2 Stars.
