I wish I would have started the series in order. This was still terrific.

This was just awful. I usually enjoy a Barclay book but the plot was so crazy and there were way too many characters involved. The thing I hated most was being left with so many cliff hangers. I know this is done to encourage people to buy the next book in the series but this is ridiculous!

Not my style of writing. Too many deaths to be believable. Too graphic. Too many characters.

2nd book in the promise falls trilogy - comes with more suspense and mystery than the 1st one, screen of a run-down drive-in movie theater collapses and kills four people, one of the victim's daughter hires Cal Weaver to investigate a break in at her father's house.

Detective Barry Duckworth is still trying to solve two murders—one of which is three years old—he believes are connected, since each featured a similar distinctive wound.

Sam Worthington's problems with her in laws takes a turn in this book.

There's more shooting, and murders and some of the cases are still unsolved which makes the reader look forward to the 3rd and the last book in the series.

Wooow. This is book 2 of the Promise Falls trilogy. The 1st being ‘Broken Promises’. Make sure you have read that one first.

There was sooo much going on in this book. It included little recaps of the characters and what had happened in book one.
It was so gripping a full of suspense and twists. I did not want it to end. Now I need to fish out book 3 so I can get all the answers!

If you haven’t read any Linwood Barclay books, you HAVE to (you can thank me afterwards). Definitely my ultimate favourite author.

The second book in the Promise Falls triology. I recommend reading Broken Promise first as Promise Falls continues several story lines including the question of what is the meaning of the pranks that keep involving the number 23. Detective Duckworth is trying to link two previous murders together while trying to solve the latest murders. There is a shoot out, kidnapping, and the discovery of a room. Many story lines are happening in this book. There is a cliffhanger of an ending and I have no clue who is committing the murders. Looking forward to the last book in the trilogy. I would like to thank netgalley and Publisher NAL for an early copy in return for an honest review.

This continues the story of the sleepy little town of Promise Falls, where nothing much happens other than serial killings, sex swinger parties, child kidnapping, shootings at the laundry, etc. You know, the usual small-town fare.

The audiobook version is very good, and I recommend it if you either prefer audiobooks, or want to start out and try one.

After finishing this, there was no question about continuing on to the 3rd book of the trilogy. In fact, I don't know why I'm spending time writing this when I could be reading more right now. See you later! :-)
