oh my goodness. this book is SO good i have literally no words. like, the way Kathleen Glasgow wrote this literally brings tears to my eyes. IT WAS SO TOUCHING ESP THE END AHHHH I was so INTO the book and i "*sank* into it" as Emory states at the end of the book. i didnt want it to end JSKJSKAD This book is so realistic because it conveys the struggles that addicts have trying to recover

This was a lot! 💔 a story of a sister and her brother who struggles with addiction. I think it’s a young adult book judging by the characters ages but it’s well written and heart wrenching!

Emory is growing up, quickly approaching junior high and trying hard to find her place. Following the foot steps of her well loved older sister has been difficult, meanwhile her brother is well known for other reasons. When her and her brother are involved in a tragic accident in town it is revealed that Joeys addiction is worse than they thought. They try to support Joey and help him to get the care he needs, which is further complicated as he is not always a willing participant.

A heartbreaking story about growing up, complicated significantly with a family member struggling with addiction. It was a hard read at times, although important.  This book  acknowledges how difficult the road is for people who have addiction. Despite rehabilitation , it’s a monster that can rear its ugly head over and over and affects so many people. I felt strongly for so many characters in this book , although I struggled a little with the mother in this story at times seeing how hard she pushed her children was difficult.  I feel it is a story that will leave you feeling many emotions.
