The writing style in this book is fantastic. It’s very harmonious with the fairytale plot. I liked the darker aspects of Hansel and Gretel and how it wove in details from other well known stories. The action was good, but it moved slow in between those scenes. I had to skim quite a bit of the slower chapters in the 2nd half. The twists were kind of obvious to me, but I enjoyed the book nonetheless.

It’s like a kitchen sink of folklores
It was a very enjoyable mash up & retelling of several fairy tales. I didn't like the MC's narration at times, only because she came across as oblivious during certain key moments. I did like that she was very actively involved in her journey, though-- completely passive MCs drive me crazy!
