I just couldn’t get into the audio book. I might try reading a physical copy but the audio just didn’t grab me

I really enjoy when authors take a fairy tale and spin into a new take all while keeping the original tale sacred. This is advertised as a Hansel and Gretel retelling but I don’t think that is a fair assessment. While it is important to the plot that we know what happened to the two before the story it’s not a retelling of that tale. It is more of a tale combining two fantastic story’s in a very creative way; Hansel and Gretel and Snow White and Rose Red. It shows the strength and power of women and I think it’s a great novel to show how powerful women are and the traumas we go through and how our choices can affect our futures. Beautifully written - excited to read more by this author. Would reread.

I was drawn in and enjoyed the story. However, I got frustrated with the main character. People were warning her of things and she ignored them. She didn't even tell the people who might have been able to help her.

An interesting mix of Hansel and Gretel with Snow White peppered in. I liked that you got two stories unfolding at once. I KNEW he was the bear! Hans was a lil traumatized bitch as well

Kell Woods drew on the Hansel and Gretel story and made it into a completely entrancing story of love, family, power and magic. I was hooked from beginning to end.
Esther Wane does and absolutely fantastic job of narrating. It has a good pace and all the character voices are very well done.
