This book spans the life of the main character, Amir. He has to overcome what he failed to do as a child by returning to his homeland and facing ghosts of his past

A gut wrenching read, as eye opening as it is tragic. A raw and heartbreakingly human perspective on the atrocities of war and the consequences of silence. The prose is simple but impactful, saying no more or less than exactly what needs to be said.

It isn't a bad book but it just isn't the type of book for me.

I personally think most realistic fiction books aren't entertaining. Sure a lot are well written I just don't think they are fun to read.

This book was one of them. It isn't a book I would've picked on my own. It was well written though so minus personal preference there is nothing wrong with it.

Also if anyone is like, "Why did they put it wasn't diverse?" A story where most characters are part of the same minority is just as not diverse as one where most characters are not part of a minority.
