Having studied many of Shakespeare’s plays and writings at school coming back to this again after some time I still enjoyed it as much as I did

I like this RSC version of Shakespeare plays because they give you so much more information. The archaic words are explained in footnotes. For this play I didn't really need the footnotes to grasp the meaning behind the words, for other plays I have read they came in very handy. The book also includes a scene-by-scene analysis which I really liked. This is one of the easier Shakespeare plays I have read, so I feel this would be a good start if you want to get into reading Shakespeare.

Shakespeare was so ahead of his time that Act V turned into the funniest Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode four-hundred years before it existed

when finishing this book or performance, one cannot help but walk away feeling a bit like bottom when he awakes from his dream. we are confused and can’t exactly put into words what we have experienced and do it justice. but that is what love is. love is indescribable because at the end of the day it is just a feeling. however a strong feeling that stays with you. throughout act 4 we see just how strong love can present itself but after the potion is removed, their original love is stronger than ever. however bottom was not under a potion, he felt love and cared. this could not be erased from him upon waking up.
to be honest, i don’t know how i feel about this story. i loved it but act 5 has confused me. i think showing the play can show just how ridiculous love can be from an outsiders views, but when in love the unlogical becomes logical. we see this with hermia, when she wakes up and Lysander is not there, she concludes that he must be died. or helena telling Demetrius hermia and lysander plan. showing them making fun of the play shows that they can recognize when love is taken to the extreme but they can recognize it in themselves
