This book discussed really important themes on love, life, and the interaction between the two. Unfortunately, I don’t think I connected with the story in the way I was meant to.

I started reading this book expecting a cute and sweet romance. I have to say, I wasn’t expecting this story to go the way it did.
I like how it makes me reflect on the way we expect our relationships (romantic or not) to last forever when sometimes they are just not meant to.
It’s ok to cherish the link we had with somebody, grieve for the version we were at that times and move on.
It’s okay to let people go, and it’s even possible to cross paths again and develop a new relationship.

I like the writing style of the book, but I personally always (and will probably) have a problem with sad endings. It’s childish of me but I don’t like how they make me feel after.
That’s the reason why this story left me unsatisfied when I finished it. I would have loved to see a Happily Ever After between Evie and Xavier, because they were so cute together

There are books that are fun and you come out of it feeling like it was a fun vacation, and there are books that make you feel like you just ate a rich five-course meal of character development and gorgeous descriptions.

And then there are books that turn your world upside down and inside out, and when you finish it feels like you are seeing the world through new eyes. That's what finishing this book felt like.

Instructions for Dancing looks on the outside like a cheesy, light-hearted rom-com, and I went into it with low expectations. But it turned out to be one of the best books I've read in a long time.

“Instructions for Dancing” is also instructions on how to live your life - live in the moment. Evie is given the power to see the future - she focuses on heartbreak not love after her parents divorce.
