I definitely recommend this book! Some of the stories are much stronger than others.  The last story has some of the best world-building. The stories vary greatly and all condemn aspects of society and of individuals' values, beliefs, and actions. Very dark and dystopic but neccisarry and gripping.

sheeesh this was full of some disturbing imagery and stories. it was kind of a complicated read for some of them, i feel like maybe the points were too over my head for a few but all of it was very well written. i think it’s mostly cut and clear what the author was getting across when it comes to violence, racism, the self, and consumerism. each voice of the character within a story was unique, it never felt repetitive or anything. i appreciate this a lot, i think the author has an amazing view and creativity. not sure i’d ever read it again though :P

I love stories that makes me deeply uncomfortable and this collection delivered.

Many of the stories evoked visceral emotions as racism, capitalism & co were explored in dystopian settings that felt all too real. As with Chain-Gang All-Stars, the world building was so disturbing because it's just a step or two away from our current reality.

The quality of this short story collection was fairly consistent throughout, and I enjoyed almost every story which is rare for me. I'm not even gonna try to pick favorites.

What an incredible collection. Adjei-Brenyah's work is poignant, sharp, insightful, and simultaneously upsetting and exciting. I was always looking forward to reading more. None of these are weak stories, but my particular favorites were Through the Flash and The Hospital Where. Content warnings are not complete but mention some.
