I’ve been looking forward to reading this for ages, so it’s a real disappointment that I actively disliked the writing.

Both Greta and Valdin have a hectic internal monologue that barely pauses to draw breath. The thought of reading an entire book of this was enough to make me feel panicked.

I’m grateful that there more stories being written about indigenous queer people, and I’m glad so many people have enjoyed this novel. For me though, it was a complete swing and a miss.

One of my all time favorite books. So deliciously weird and funny. I loved all the multicultural things going on. This might be a book that I have to reread

All vibes. No real plot ? Did I care...no!

A marvelous Cool Girl fiction debut.

My only real complaint is the heinous Scottish accent the narrator does throughout the audiobook version which was bordering on the absurd. The character was written to "sound like Shrek". Which like...lol..very relatable 2022 millennial lore adjacent but alas, as a Scott, I have been tipped over the edge by too many Haggis-sploitation accent attempts already.

very funny and messy and emotional and wholesome. loved the sitcom vibes. i teared up a little at the ending. maybe it suffered a little from character overdose (the list of characters in the beginning of the book came in handy for sure) but i also appreciated the chaos of it all so it's ok.
