I did not expect to get through this book so quickly. It was beautiful and heart wrenching and a lovely ending. Having said that I have no idea how to form words for most of what even happened. I have no idea how people are able to write reviews without screaming into the void. I will say the ending was very peaceful which was something I was not expecting. Definitely going to re-read this. This series might be the only fantasy trilogy that I actually liked all of the books, the plots and characters are just so beautifully written I now have even higher fantasy standards.

I don't think it's up for debate that Sanderson has created a beautiful world with an equally beautiful story. I tried, I really did, to think of something I didn't love about the culmination of the trilogy, but I think it's perfect. It came out with guns blazing in the first chapter and it never slowed down. The last quarter of the book picked up even faster and I could not put it down. I'm in love with these characters and so fulfilled with each of their stories. 10/10 would recommend to everyone.

Just such an amazing story with so many twists. It was quite a wild ride!
There's a lot to talk about but I want to mention how much I enjoyed Vin and Elend's relationship. I was anticipating that something horrible is going to happen with Elend or through him, but it didn't. Their relationship was a really nice depiction of a strong bond without the conflict between them becoming some main focus. Rather, it felt like a realistic depiction of what it feels to love someone. Sometimes you disagree, but you don't stop trusting. It was refreshing, since most books feel like they have to make the characters immature and over-emotional when it comes to their romantic relationships.

I won't lie, the first half of this book was a bit difficult for me to get through. I was still invested, I simply wasn't quite intrigued and captivated by the first half of the plot. But once I got the second half...holy cow. Amazing.
There's so much I want to say about this book, yet I'm completely speechless. I even teared up, which has never happened before while reading a book. That was phenomenal. Truly perfection. Brandon Sanderson, you are incredible.

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
The journey is over. It was painful to say goodbye to those amazing characters that Sanderson created, but they will always be in my heart.
I think this is the weakest book in era 1 of Mistborn. It's an amazing finale - maybe a tiny bit too dark for my taste - and that beautiful bittersweet ending made me cry far more than it should. However, I see the problem in Preservation and Ruin. They are interesting and I think the build-up from The Well of Ascension was done well yet, it still felt like it came out of nowhere at times. I probably get that feeling because I keep thinking about book 1 and the vibe that it gave off.
I liked how Sanderson focused more on Spook in this book since he's a very interesting character. I got hooked up in his story in Urteau so much, that I got bored when the POV switched back to Elend, Vin, or Sazed. And if I already mentioned the Keeper... yeah, he was a tiny bit annoying in this book. I had nothing against the guy before - I actually really liked him - but he was whining for the whole freaking book. I get that he lost someone important to him but it was just not fun to read how badly he pitied himself.
But... Sazed and TenSoon working together in the end... that was amazing. They had great dynamics and it's a pity that it had to end so soon.
Elend and Vin were pretty much okay. Sure, things actually got interesting after Vin was kidnapped but we can ignore the boring part because Spook stepped into the spotlight at the time. I was shocked with how much Elend changed from the second book and it got me worried for a second since I loved Elend the scholar, but Sanderson soon showed that our boy is still the same on the inside. Vin was still the same Vin we knew before but the ending... that was epic. She literally turned into a GOD.

And her battle with the inquisitors... I have no words. It was epic as hell when she kicked their asses.
But there is this one reason (among many others) for why I enjoyed this book as much as I did despite the flaws mentioned... the BALL. Oh. My. God. I didn't realize how much I needed it to happen before it actually did. It just brought so many memories to where our characters began their journeys.
I loved how Sanderson explored the kandra society and the koloss in this book. Hemalurgy was a great addition to the magic system and it makes you feel like the author wanted to do this all along (well maybe he did, who knows).
Cett was actually a great addition to the team and I wish we could explore his character more.
I was so happy for Breeze. He got over the shock from the final battle from book two and I can't even describe how much I enjoy it when we get his POV. I feel like Sanderson could explore the fact that he wasn't skaa more though - that would be very interesting but I get that there were a lot of things going on and a writer has to have some priorities.
I still don't know how to feel about Marsh. On one hand, I'm like: KILL HIM, and then on the other, I think: oh poor baby, please save him from that stupid ass named Ruin.
Thankfully, Ham survived and could get back to his family. Thank you Brandon Sanderson. That was all that I've wanted.
I also want to point out that I knew Reen and Kelsier would return in some form. I was right (it wasn't actually them but pfft... that's not important).
And then there were those last 20 pages (#CriedLikeABaby). I literally couldn't stop crying. I was so emotional when Elend was dying that I sobbed in my room in the middle of the night.
Imagine the situation:
the book: the axe took off Elend's head
me, mentally unstable teenager: *sobbing and blowing my nose into a tissue*
(I mean...is that normal?)
And then - as if this wasn't enough - Vin said: "He was the only reason I had left to live." And I broke.
And then Vin actually died and I broke again.
And then Sazed wrote the letter and oh my god that shit was good. I cried so hard reading it and my feelings reached their climax when he mentioned Kelsier. I simply cannot comprehend. That was the most satisfying ending I have ever read and Sanderson has convinced me to read each and every one of his books.
