there is so much going on in this book compared to the first?!? definitely delved deeper into the main plot of who is god and also revealed more of everybody’s (thorn’s?) intention. ophelia’s character development was amazing too how she started standing up for herself and also she’s such a strong lady hidden behind her looks?!? i love how the side-ish plot of the courtiers missing actually fits into the bigger plot and helps bring the readers closer to the main issue of the series??
like who is god seriously and what role does he/she play in controlling the ark’s spirits?? and the book that dictates their lives?? what even is it
honestly i still have more questions than answers but it does feel like the fog is clearing up hehehe

the characters are all unique and interesting in their own way and i think this book helped to paint the characters a little bit clearer (maybe cos we got more time with the characters) i love berenilde and in this book im able to see her intentions more clearly and why she acts in a certain way. and omg same thing with thorn :( he just carries everything on his shoulders 10/10 good man and the slow burn is so slow but so good 🥲 i read in some review that book 2 was about thorn falling in love with ophelia and book 3 is ophelia falling in love with thorn but i think he alr loved her at the start of book 2 and she’s falling in book 2 instead of 3 🥲 and not so surprisingly there’s quite a bit on farouk and i must say i did not think that he would be a sad sad family spirit also some great plot twists towards the end which had me gasping

like thorn getting the gift of mirror visiting instead of reading?!?? what crazy ass joke is this like bruh yall banked it all on combining his memory and getting the reading gift but he had to go and get the mirror visiting instead and he had to disappear WHEN he figured some shit out (which is not told to the readers what even) and also this just means ophelia got the reading AND the memory which is like uh that’s what yall want but also she fulfilled the contract with farouk alr so like uh where is this going. okay so evidently i have a lot of questions and i shld read the next book

This is an incredibly intricate world and it is fascinating. It did take me a while to get through this one but i probably will listen to the next one. This contains a lot of murder and brutality just be aware.

Do you like slow-burn romance? This is the slowest slow burn to ever slow burn, but like in the best way possible.

Good main character, I really love Ophelia.
The pure friendships she makes are really cool to read, and the realizations she makes, I actually make alongside her, first time something like this happens! She's also hilarious, what with her consistent clumsiness, always makes me laugh.

Any book that makes me tear up is a great one in my estimation, and this was one, spectacular ending.

The second tome of La passe-miroir series continues to delve deeper into the world of the Citaciel. Sometimes I felt as though the story took too many turns, and introducing too many characters and story lines, and it felt as these were not fully finished. But overall the character development of the ones already present went to new levels and I felt deeper in love with them.
The book is a interesting mix between a manic fantasy story and a philosophical delve into what it is to be human. I'm exited to find out more about the crazy world of Dabos imagination!

I went into this book with high hopes and it kind of fell flat for me. I think where this book and the first book in the series lose me is in the pacing. It takes way too long to get into the plot and then a whole lot of nothing happens for 300 pages. I really enjoyed the ending but it felt thrown together and I wish more time was spent on the conclusion. At the moment I don’t know if I will continue this series but I do like the characters and the world which may be enough for me to pick up the next book.

Also I can not stop thinking that parts of this book just feel like a mistborn knock off??? However, that could just be my bias since I just read that book the other month.
