A fascinating look at a keystone species I haven’t thought much about before. I’m definitely a “Beaver Believer” now.

I’ll pick this back up at another time hopefully, I’m just still very much a mood reader and not really in the mood for non-fiction at the moment (at no fault of the book)

I was intrigued in the beginning, but the author’s eccentric wording soon became tiresome and annoying to me. It is hard to read a book when you don’t like the author’s voice that comes through the pages. It was just too much. I think, had the author not been so concerned with the unique construction of sentences, this would have been a more concise book and would have been more engaging.
Beavers are already heroes to me, so I’m not a reader that needs to be convinced of their value. Maybe the target audience doesn’t know a lot about beavers and the writing keeps them into the topic. Regardless, it is a book that I am grateful people are reading and enjoying - beavers need all the good press and coverage they can get! - but the writing made it not for me.
