This one took me a while but I'm proud that I finished it. I did like the story, but I struggled to get into the cadence. My copy also had thin pages so it felt like I wasn't getting anywhere for a long time.

Beautifully written. The author has captured the voice of a goddess who is thousands of years old and yet still has so much to learn. Like in life, the realization of the pain of patriarchy comes slowly and then all at once (for both the character and the reader).
The narrator is a perfect fit for this book - she sounds timeless, and paired with the text of the book, you can hear the voice of a goddess describing events that are emotionally close, but have the distance of thousands of years.

This book was amazing, the characters were extremely well-written and I really enjoyed to either love or hate them! Circe is a resilient character, with a strong sense of self and it's so refreshing to read about such a personality; she is a woman who knows what she wants and does what is in her power in order to get it unapologetically. The novel is a deep-dive into her thoughts during famous events from Greek mythology. There's maturity, but also subjectivity from a morally grey character, who became it not by selfishness, but by experience. I would also like to send kudos to the French narrator for the audiobook, she made me love this story even more!!
This book was going to be 4 stars until I read the final chapter and all I have to say is: Madeline Miller you messed me up once again
