I like the characters and the plot was fine, but the author injected a lot of “political” opinions into this book which I found very off-putting.
Serious issues made highly digestible by a talented author.
I absolutely adore this series. The characters, the animals (also characters), the story lines, the mystery, the adventure, and the family farm. This upteenth in the series was yet another festive read (listen).
It was okay.
It felt like a book about cancer with a mystery story intertwined it.
As, a survivor / warrior of breast cancer myself I can appreciate how important information and awareness about cancer can be but, by the end of the book I felt it was more about the disease then about cozy mystery.

I really like this author. Some of the conversations the characters have about current topics are very good.

Graphic: Body horror, Cancer, Medical trauma, Murder

The animals didn't play as big a role this time, and RMB is very preachy about healthcare, cancer, etc.
