Reverie

This book is far from perfect but it was original and I'm willing to forgive a lot for a book that is different. The writing was good and the descriptions of the worlds were beautiful.

I liked the majority of the characters but for some reason none of them clicked for me, this might have been partially due to me finding a lot of the dialogue quite stilted. The plot was a bit confusing in places but I loved the fact I never knew what was going to happen next.

The concept of this book had the potential to be amazing, and although it didn't quite live up to expectations I still really enjoyed it and will definitely be reading future books by this author.

THE FANTASY ELEMENTS IN THIS WAS SO GOOD! I was on the edge of my seat trying to keep up with the reveries and what was going on and what possibly was going to happen.

Loved it. Do recommend.

This book felt too large for its own good. Everything was sprawling and confusing and despite me feeling like I didn't understand anything, I also understood everything?

I think this was written with a LOT of heart. La Sala writes really beautifully and packs in an amazing amount of emotion and I can basically feel his soul bleeding through the words. Yet there's a lack of structure and clear vision hear that leads this book into feeling like a big mess. It's beautiful and I loved the concepts but for me a lot of them didn't quite hit where I wanted them to. I think this needed like a year to marinate and another edit before it hit the shelves.

This really feels like a debut, or even a final draft, so I'm excited for his next book because this has so much potential. I definitely won't forget this one, but I just wish it could've been a five star.

An intricate, imaginative craziness. Definitely YA category. The plot is a bit ridiculous, although it's well-written.

This book was nothing like I thought it would be from the first couple chapters, in the best way possible.

I have to say, this main character is such a complete idiot I had to stop listening because I was so irritated. What a numbskull. Seemed to have some promise, but I can't even focus on the book because he is so completely dumb. No remotely intelligent person would make the stupid mistakes he's making, it just feels like a crutch to get the plot going the way the author wants.

Very weird (in a good way pretty much!), slow and with meh characters, but the writing was breathtaking and I love found family so! 3.75 stars!
