This one had me all the way up until the final chapter, whereupon I could NOT put the thing down for love or money. The epilogue had me tearing up, too - way to sneak in some old favourites of mine and make them Gender but also incredible and trick me into crying. Also congrats to my bestie Gyokuyou!!
The final scene with the bite, the nap, and my best friend Gaoshun has been living rent free in my head for the last four days and I don't think I'm going to recover from it any time soon.

I absolutely love The Apothecary Diaries series! I’ve been binging the manga since last year, but I just couldn’t wait any longer—so I decided to dive into the light novel.
This volume was a thrilling ride. Seriously. The beginning started off a bit slow, but once things picked up, it got intense—and even darker than I expected.
I had my suspicions about a certain character, so I wasn’t too shocked when they were finally exposed. But the way the plot unfolded and the resolution? OMG. That completely caught me off guard!
Of course, there were plenty of hilarious moments (as expected from Maomao), and let’s not forget the slow burn romance—AHHHH! (Please ignore my screaming.)
I loved this volume so much that giving it 5 stars was an easy choice. I had to.
