First a confession: I've never watched The Graduate from start to finish, all the way through. That said, the novella did little for me. Benjamin reminds me of the young men I know who can't seem to grow up and don't seem to want to do so. Poor Elaine, objectified and harrassed to the point that even she isn't likeable- the entire story makes page-turning a task, self-indulgent sentence after egocentric sentence.
