Usually, im not into romance books that dont usually follow a certain plot and with less conflict. But this …. i dont mind at all. This was wholesome and it delved more into the development of the relationship of our two main characters, dealing with grief and changes that life unexpectedly brings you. A slice of life kinda story, if you will. And this is how you do slow burn right, as you usually have when reading Mariana Zapata books.
I really appreciate how Mariana Zapata really show us how two complete strangers gradually and slowly fall in love with each other, unlike the usual romance books nowadays where there’s like instant connection. Its really well done how our main girl, Diana, navigated her attraction with our broody hero and how she tried to bury such attraction due to his circumstances. Refreshing, a fmc that uses her brain before her vagina lol. And the communication? Not only with the mmc but also with her kids? Ugh, i wish i have this kind of mother figure in my life. Hehe yikes.
Ah, just wholesome, wholesome, wholesome!
Oh! My only critique tho was about Jackson. I kinda hoped he was more part of this story and not just a storta plot device or something. Thinking how we started through him, i thought he got a bigger role in this but turns out he doesn’t at all. Kinda a bummer but it did not really made me unlike my reading experience .

eu acima de tudo não sou chegada num slowburn mas esse aqui me ganhou completamente porque as coisas são tão bem construídas que você se apaixona junto com os personagens, perfeito
