My problem with this was solely the pace because the writing is pretty decent. But halfway in and we're still not moving with the narrative, so I just felt incredibly bored 🤧

Very cute book, a good kickstarter or palate cleanser
I quickly fell in love with a good handful of characters, even though the first half of the book introduced SOOOO many characters and I found it confusing. By the ending chapters, I knew them all well and felt emotional for them.
I think the prose was beautiful, and perhaps even borderline Wattpad-esque, but I didn't mind too much.
I felt very no thoughts head empty while reading this book, which I quite enjoyed during my current mental state -- though I think this book is definitely not for everyone.
I also enjoyed the whole "Guess Who" mystery aspect of the book, which really introduced a good plotline.
I don't have anything bad to say, but the book wasn't mind-blowing-ly good. It was alright :)

Fortune teller Madame Burova is retiring, but before she does she has some promises to keep and some secrets to reveal
I really enjoyed this book, good interlinked characters with flashes back at some of their pasts in the 70’s and how it shaped their future. It kept me reading and engaged until the end to understand how the relationships worked out and what secrets would come out. I did guess one part of the plot but it didn’t spoil the whole read.
I’ll definitely check out the authors other novels and look out for new ones.
Thanks for NetGalley and the publisher for a chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This one was a miss for me. Not much plot snd not much character development. Enjoyed the tarot card reader and cute dogs. Split timelines between 1970s and now in Brighton England. An adopted woman searching for info about her birth parents and a tarot card reader with secrets from the past.

The only thing saving this book from being a 1 star is the last 50 pages. I felt like this book was just too hard to get into and that there were way too many characters. I read the first 20 pages and was completely lost as to what I just read but I told myself I will continue to see if it gets better. I felt it was confusing a lot of the times as to who was doing what and the plot was just barely there. While I did love Imelda and Billie, I felt like there was just too many side plots happening and it made the story hard to follow. While it did all make sense in the end and mostly every character came into play but it took over 230 pages to get there. The writing style just wasn't for me.
3.5 stars. I really enjoyed this book. It was a nice warm fuzzy that I needed during January. The characters were great, but it took me a second to figure out which characters were who because there were a lot of them with their own story lines. Once I got into the groove of the book, I managed to figure it all out.
Minus the 1.5 stars because I was disappointed in the ending. She spent the whole book working up the anticipation to find out who Billie’s dad was, but then it just happened, and you found out in the last 3 pages. I felt like it was such an abrupt and kind of disappointing ending.
