Somewhat meh I guess, but allright reading for a rainy day. Might check out the second book to see if I like that better.

Starts off promising, but gets awful near the end and falls apart. If you are reading this for the premise, don't even bother, as it's completely misleading.

Overly melodramatic cheese mars the second half of what promised to be a somewhat serviceable horror novel. High praise, huh?

This was very close to being a five star read for me. The story was engaging and well-paced. It also subverted my expectations in interesting ways.

I had issues with two main things: 1. The way that Magda’s appearance was constantly described and over-sexualized, and 2. The romance between Magda and Glaeken progressed way too quickly to be believable.

Overall, though, I highly recommend this book.

I liked my first F. Paul Wilson's book. I was expecting so since I heard some many praise about the Repairman Jack saga: this was a fun and quick read and although some of the characters felt not fleshed out as I would expect, their conflicts and struggles were good. Besides than I liked the twisted in the "Adversary" background story and I see that now that the author can provide more stories in this cycle. I really hope he enriches the saga with more information about the old ages (I believe they use a different name but I cannot remember it now).
