Great story, keep my attention. I think the pregnancy bugged me but I liked the characters and the twists and turns of the story. I definitely had a few WTF moments.

The only thing I was caught up on was how the main characters came to loving each other. While it was clear they had a connection and they discussed how their shared trauma could interfere with a healthy relationship, the admission of love felt almost rushed and lil out of place. But the plot had me on my ass trying to finish it, I was hooked.

Ludicrously overwrought, with a nauseating “love story” at its center, but I did read to find out the ending, so have to give it a reluctant extra 1/2 star. I’ve found the quality of Amazon First Reads are rarely good.

This book was absolutely amazing from someone who reads hundreds of psychological thrillers. Different than any other book I’ve ever read. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!!

Good book, dark and psychological with good morals. Worth a read if you can stomach some tougher subjects and trickier themes.
