A lovely read (in large part because it was Anne—she's so relatable and listening to her voice is like listening to an old friend). I loved the "Next Steps" sections at the end of each chapter. If you struggle with decision fatigue or analysis paralysis, this book could prove as helpful for you as it was for me.
Anne talks to you like a big sister or good friend. She know the struggles and wants to help. As a woman I spend a lot of time overthinking. But that is not living our best life. If you want to live your best life than you want to read this book. Finding the patterns that keep you prisoner is going to free you and Anne is going to show you those patterns. I think that Anne manages to breakdown the multiple ways that we do overthink things and I know at least one of these things will resonate with you.

2.5 stars rounded up. Short and sweet. I enjoyed listening to this book but don’t think I learned anything revolutionary. Honestly, sometimes the act of listening to this advice is the most impactful part of this self improvement genre.
I started the paperback and finished it on audio. Great for people who have inner critics that push perfectionism and overthinking.
Great book. I love a good self help book and this is probably one of my top 5 now.

I’m always delighted to read anything by my favorite podcaster/blogger, Anne Bogel. But as a chronic overthinker, this book in particular really spoke to me. It felt like getting much-needed advice from a good friend. It was definitely the right book at the right time.
Interesting Nuggets
Bogel is a blogger and podcaster. Go into this book with that knowledge and you'll get what you were hoping for - nuggets of wisdom from her life and experience.
This is book is not a research heavy, intellectual psychological study in rumination.

Don't Overthink It is the book I didn't know I needed. One of my favorite aspects was all the instances when Bogel uses real-life examples to explain different behaviors. This really brought home to me where in my life I have been overthinking and getting stuck in decision making.
Maybe it's just because I already read her blog and listen to her podcast occasionally, but Bogel's narration felt like the voice of a familiar friend talking to me while we sipped coffee. It made the book pleasant and quick to read.
Best of all, Don't Overthink It is supremely practical. Even without the questions at the end of each chapter, the book prompts reflection and change. A highlighter and notebook in hand would serve the reader well as they read.
So, still wondering if you should buy this book? I bet you know what I'm going to say. Don't Overthink It!
