A helpful, clear book on the subject of overthinking. Anne gives her readers helpful tips to understand why we overthink, and how to successfully overcome it. Much of this book is drawn from her own life experiences, which I liked, because it helped to make the book more relatable. If you struggle at all with overthinking like I do (why is it so hard to decide the smallest things, like where to sit?) then you should definitely read this book.

Nothing earth shattering, but good motivational messages for the average worrier.

“You won’t look for an answer if you don’t believe one exists.”

There are some principles in this book worth considering in order to overcome rhuminating over trivial life matters and instead make habits or choices that might add more joy in your life.

“With each action we take, we make a vote for the kind of person we want to be.”

You are what you think. This concept resonates with me as I also struggle with thinking about too many things that don’t bring me joy. I’m a big fan of Anne’s Modern Mrs. Darcy blog and What Should I Read Next podcast so I was happy to volunteer to read an advanced copy. (My purchased signed version will get delivered in March.)

This book shares relatable stories of common pitfalls along with helpful strategies to become more in control of what and how we think. Limiting the available options to avoid decision paralysis is a good one for me as sometimes I get stuck in the previews and never actually pick out a movie!

I’ll look forward to picking this up again periodically for inspiration. And I bought flowers at Trader Joe’s yesterday just because.

Anne has some great tips for all facets of overthinking. I read it so fast that I want to pick it up and browse back through to underline and write down my favorites. If you think you struggle with overthinking or making decisions, read this book!

Hd some useful tips/suggestions for helping streamline decision making so we spend less time agonizing over certain things (like what’s for dinner? Or should I treat myself this week? Etc). Also enjoyed the little anecdotes from her life and family.
