Tried on audio. Like most self help books, seemed repetitive and never really provided much detailed info. “A repeated intro”.

3.5- draws a lot on productivity thoughts/books I’ve read before but in a nice smaller book... a few new things and of course I love the “voice” and style of the author (highly recommend her podcast about books!) but still doesn’t pack the punch of the books it draws much of the advice from like getting things done (closing thought loops! Systems!) or Atomic habits (habit pairing! Mindset strategy etc)

True to my overthinking nature, I am overthinking this review – but only because I don’t want to shortchange all the gems that Anne Bogel has worked into it. As her pieces usually do, in Don’t Overthink It, Bogel weaves personal stories and lessons learned into the narrative, but she also includes reflections from other authors and researchers about the toll that overthinking can take – and strategies for breaking the habit. I love the prompts at the end of each chapter to think about how to make changes – big and small – in our own lives, and I’m already thinking in particular about what routines I can elevate to rituals, and how to work more small treats into busy days. I can’t wait to have the hard copy in my hands!

Thanks to Baker Books and NetGalley for providing an ARC of the book in exchange for my honest review.

DNF -- a bit rambly and nothing new from previous self-help books I'd read

This book was shorter than I anticipated. I bumped it from a 2 to a 3 because she references some books that seemed like they’d be more interesting. This read left me feeling meh.
