My kids are cooking dinner this summer and this is the first cook book that we are using. We went through it and chose 9 recipes that looked and sounded good. So far they are. When we finish with this book, we will chose another.

I do happen to own this one, but have decided that I won't buy any more. Kids cookbooks just aren't justifiable price wise or storage space wise in my opinion. We will check out the rest from the library. (And keep them far from the cooking area.)

Got this as a wedding gift and like its reference sections. Many recipes rely on processed ingredients more than I normally do, but they all are easy and probably crowd-pleasers. I also love that it is subdivided into very specific sections; much easier to flip to the Cookie tab than wade through an entire Dessert chapter, if that's what I'm looking for.

These recepies looked great, and it encompassed everything needed to cook. I haven’t made any of these recepies, which is why I’m not rating it. I can’t judge how this book functions until I do that.

I grew up with a version of this cookbook. I used it so much, the pages have splatters of food all over them. It is very helpful and teaches you about knife skills and how to cook meat etc. This was my go to cookbook after I got married! The recipes are great too!

I have three of these. One is ancient and missing many pages. Two are newer and one of those the cover is broken. But I love them all. They are classic and any cooking/baking questions I ever have I can pretty much find an answer for in here. I really truly believe every kitchen needs this book.

It's lacking a lot of great basics but it's still nice to have in the kitchen for quick reference.

The first cook book I ever received, and I always refer to it when I want to learn to make something.
