i think that sarov is the best written villain in this series. you empathise with him on such a deep level and can sense that, at heart, he is a broken father who has lost his son and is angry at the world. he is a radical and a revolutionary and there’s real dimension to him. also, rereading this really emphasises just how young alex is, being exploited and used by everyone else- far from the wonder and awe i felt reading this as a preteen.
best book in the whole series.

Book #3 ~ Alex Rider
3✨

Synopsis ~ The third, explosive mission in the number one bestselling Alex Rider series. In the third book in the number one bestselling Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz, teenage spy Alex faces his most dangerous challenge yet. Teaming up with the CIA, Alex must go to a remote Caribbean island called Skeleton Key, where the insane general Sarov is hatching explosive plans to re-write history.

Thoughts ~ I didn't enjoy this one as much as the previous two, this is partly down to my reading mood at the minute but it definitely allowed Alex Rider to develop as a character and I can't wait to get started on the next adventure! Another great action packed adventure!
