Marie Benedict has a way of bringing these oft-overlooked historical women to life. Her atmospheric writing and conveyance of emotions and passions make for an immersive read. This book in particular had a lot of science in it and I thank my previous job where I edited technical books on materials science for my limited understanding of x-ray diffraction and crystallography. Rosalind Franklin's story is beautiful and inspiring, but also tragic. If you enjoy delving deep into history, and in this case science, then this read is a lesiurely paced one to endeavor.
