4.5 stars, really. Delightful, but left me with one frustration: that we don't find out (yet?) what happens to Felicity (although I think I know why that plate suddenly clattered to the floor in the kitchen. 😉) Also, that kissing is as far as we see things go with Percy and Monty. So, make that two frustrations. Anyway, *highly* entertaining. Reminded me a bit of Eli Brown's "Cinnamon and Gunpowder." Here's hoping we get a sequel.

just fluffy, dramatic, and gay enough to make me feel invested. you can very much tell this book was written in the 2010’s but it’s just what i needed.. i think the way queer fiction was written then all had the same voice/perspective even when trying to be diverse or go into history. overall it was fun!

i loved the parts about venice having been there last september it was fun to be able to understand the city more then i typically can in books.

the main character was almost too annoying/oblivious. i would say this was definitely a comfort read. if you miss being a gay tumblr teen reading gay romance this is for u!

AAAAAAA.
this was excellent splendid magnificent outrageously good awesome amazing beautiful gorgeous delicious scrumptious wonderful dazzling awe-inspiring

I am all in favor of boys kissing boys and having a life together and the three main characters are wonderfully and painfully real and also obnoxious as F. At least one is, and he is an absolute cad (albeit a fondly endearing one). The other two characters are solid and smart and significantly less obnoxious and I sympathized with them like woah.

However, despite the highwaymen and the mad dash across the Continent and the pirates, this book is 85% mushy romance and FEELINGS and the two lovebirds being way too stubborn to actually admit to the love bit. You know... like a romance. And being the gleefully unattached old spinster I am, I definitely don't have a lot of patience for romance and mushiness of any sort.

Yay boys! Yay BFF+! Ugh romance.
