I love this series as a whole. Lucien is an asshole, and I hated him most of the time. But then you get to the end, and all that hate just evaporates. I’ve reread this a couple of times and I always think “why do I remember loving this so much, he is horrible?” Then I get to then end, and I’m like “oh that’s why!”

The Monsters universe within the Fae Chronicles has come to an end. This book was OK, not my favorite of the series, and I felt that Hutchins left several plot holes. Will those holes get filled in the next Fae Chronicles book? Who knows. The big reveal of who or shall I say what Lucien actually is was a let down, and the reveal felt forced. And what does that mean for Spyder and everybody else? Are they part of what Lucien is or what? Like this entire series, the action was actioning, but it can get a little stale when you know the authors theme. The dead don't seem to stay dead. Somebody will be kidnapped and copious amount of angry smut.
I think this author is not for me. I just lost interest in everything. Female narrator isn't for me. If I hadn't paid money for these I would have quit a long time ago. Lesson learned on pre-buying a full series.

Far better than the 3rd book but this one is the heaviest on the spice out of the series. It’s every few pages. But everything came together with storyline at the end with a bow on top. And you finally find out what LB is. It doesn’t go into detail, it just his name.
