Picks right up where the first one left off and now I can't wait to read the final one. It does leave you hanging at the end of this book. I like the series and the way it has been going so far. Galloran is a neat character. The one thing I don't like about the book is that there are so many characters it is sometimes hard to keep track of them all.

Great book!

Forgot what was happening, I was missing too many details, need to start again

Jason finds his way back to Lyria to find his friends and give them new information to help with the rebellion. They find themselves constantly on the run from the forces of Maldor. There are daring escapes and a struggle to survive.

I think I like this series more than I like Fablehaven, which is saying a lot. The author throws in some good twists to keep your attention, but never makes anything feel hopeless or too easy. Also a fan of the length of the series and that the author was open about that up front. Makes it easier to keep reading knowing it's just a trilogy and that it won't go on for 10 years.

Better than the first book. The plot thickens and becomes easier to relate to. The characters develop more and their individual personalities become clearer. I wondewr if Brandon Mull can manage to end this seried in a non-cliche way. It will be interesting to see.

There were parts of this fantasy adventure book that I loved, other parts that I barely listened to, and parts that made me laugh—like the zombies caused by worms or the moss infections.
