The story still feels a little simple and basic to me, yet for some reason I can't stop myself from wanting to know what happens next.
Brandon Never disappoints. There is always something new and fresh. I am excited to finish this series and I recommend this along with this other series to anyone.
I got totally sucked into this world. Great middle grade to YA level fantasy.
I was really struggling to finish this second installment coz it made me bored & sleepy. But i don't like abandon a book, nor abandon the series. Honestly i don't have anything to write the review about this book coz i forgot the story already.

I'm not sure what I like so much about these books. In retrospect looking back over them it's just one quest after another after another in a never-ending poltitical struggle. But I enjoy them so much. Maybe it's the great characters, the superb writing... whatever it is, give me more!
Maybe it was the narration but this book dragged. It never felt like we had a purpose and the journey never gripped me. It just felt like a book of filler. The ending was hot garbage too
It was about the same as the first book. Could have used editing. Boring in sections. We haven't really gotten anywhere. The characters wander and they talk and they fight and it's not all that engaging. I liked the first one slightly better. I will be finishing the series.
