A great, easy read with practical ideas on how to develop effective teams. I was not expecting to enjoy the fable format, but I was pleasantly surprised at how useful it was in delivering the thesis of the book. The summary after the fable was full of practical application tips, concisely presented, and will be a great reference for returning to the book in the future. I got a lot out of this book and will definitely be rereading it.
When Catherine becomes the CEO of a failing technology company, she must make some extreme changes to overcome five obstacles standing in her team's way. This allegory is about team building and having tough conversations. It's funny, the first time I read this book, I hated it. The tough conversations made me feel uncomfortable and I didn't see the treasure this book has to offer. It wasn't until I had to handle some of these dysfunctions head-on that I recognized the importance of this work. The road leading to being a good supervisor is a long one, but I would recommend visiting this book.

Really interesting framework and presented in a very readable, if cheesy, way. Definitely a lens that I’ll be using to evaluate team health.

This was a great business book that gave me a lot to think about. While listening to this book I realized it felt less like a non fiction title and more like I was being told a story about a team that was learning how to best work together.
This was the first leadership book I read after PT School. My boss recommended it to me when I was a staff PT and I re-read it once I moved into a clinic director role. I recommend others do the same. You glean different insights into the team dynamic as a member and as the leader of a team.
This is a good fast read that has some great lessons. It’s written as a story, which makes it less dry and easier to zip through.
