I’m not a Jesus person, but the Carpenter family has a special place in my heart! Glad to see Michael is still a force to be reckoned with, even after his retirement

This built on some things we learned in [b:Small Favor|927979|Small Favor (The Dresden Files, #10)|Jim Butcher|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1298085176l/927979._SY75_.jpg|2054834], which I appreciated. It didn't just feel like a side story, but a transition one that everyone interested in the series should probably read.

“The five minutes of kindness you showed her is going to help thousands of others. And that only takes into account the past day. Despair and pain were averted. Loss and tragedy thwarted. Do you think you haven't struck a blow for the light, Warrior?”

The Warrior allows us to see a glimpse into the aftermath of Small Favor. Michael is no longer a knight of the white cross. As you can see from this novella, not everyone can do Michael's job.

I loved that Harry and Michael started to finally start getting along in this novella. The last few books have contained too much tension between the two.

A very interesting insight into what means to be a Knight, about faith and about how small acts of kindness can alter a life.

A little aftermath to Michael's injury and his retirement, and a very good one.
