Mr. Kinsella reminded me so much of Matthew Cuthbert. ❤️ I am amazed at how much Claire Keegan can do in so few pages. I just want more and more and more.

"Foster" by Claire Keegan is a tiny but mighty literary gem. The brevity of the narrative is deceptive, as the story manages to build towards a powerful emotional punch at the end. Keegan masterfully captures the essence of storytelling, where the quiet moments resonate with profound meaning.

The brilliance of Keegan, which I had first come to appreciate in "Small Things Like These", lies in her ability to convey something much larger through seemingly ordinary occurrences. Keegan artfully weaves a tapestry of emotions and experiences, revealing the depth and complexity of human relationships in the most subtle yet impactful ways.

The writing is a testament to Keegan's skill—a delicate balance of sparsity and beauty. The prose is so exquisitely crafted that every word feels purposeful, painting vivid images and evoking a range of emotions. The narrative's brevity does not sacrifice the richness of the storytelling; instead, it enhances the impact of each moment.

From the first page, I found myself drawn into the characters' lives, and the poignant climax left me with a lump in my throat and a few tears in my eyes. The narrative's emotional resonance is a testament to Keegan's mastery of the craft, leaving an indelible mark on the reader.

In the end, "Foster" is a testament to the author's ability to create a profound and moving narrative within a compact space. It's a literary triumph that lingers in the heart and mind, reminding us of the enduring power of a well-told story. Highly recommended for those who appreciate the beauty of concise yet impactful storytelling.
