I have wondered all my life when I'll ever get to read this book. I have known so many lines by heart that when I finally got to read them on the book it felt so surreal. This book also has got to have one of the best dedications written before the first chapter. I read it in less than two hours because I was fascinated with the prince. And in my heart of hearts there is a tiny spot that feels the bitter in bittersweet when the little prince left.

P.S.
I did an internal "oh no" with a shake of my head when the prince was asking the snake about the poison and the short suffering that comes with it. I just don't know how I would end up feeling if this chose to end with the prince being killed by his innocence and the snake's poison.

I went to the library the other day and saw this book on a shelf. I decided to borrow it because I had fear of missing out on a classic. I read it with no previous knowledge of the story and no expectations.

I thought the first few pages were interesting and made me curious to read more. I was no longer interested about halfway through. I did not understand all the metaphors that were presented, maybe I managed to understand one quote halfway. To think this book was made for children surprised me! When I finished reading it, I was relieved that it was over.

This book had a chapter at the end which gave insight about the author's life. This was the reason I gave this book a 2-star rating, since it helped me understand the story better. I also appreciated that the illustrations were drawn by the author himself.

Personally, I didn't enjoy reading this book at all because I don't like books with metaphors and allegory. However, I would still recommend this book if you do! I think if you like metaphorical books and read this book without expectations, you might still like it!
