“Librarians, of all people, understood the value of knowing, even if that information could not yet be used.”

A beautiful addition to the dystopian novel collection.

i really struggled through the first half and was super bummed out since i liked the first two books by celeste ng so much. the second half really picked up for me though and i was reminded of how beautiful her writing is.

Reading this novel gave me gut-wrenching anxiety like I know it was meant to do.

I hated this and I also loved it. It feels a bit too real right now… but I think that’s why it’s such an important read. It’s going to stick with me for a long time.

Prepare to be very angry and very sad.

I loved the author’s notes at the end describing her inspiration and the real stories she pulled from!
