Another excellent installment in the series. Flamefall is that rare success of a second book in a trilogy, expanding on the world and character building of the first book while simultaneously setting up the third book and holding its own plotline. A prefect mix that had me speeding easily through this book.

In the first book we saw our young riders struggling to find their way among adults and the politicking of a young government. In this our riders realize their own power and strengths, although they still have their own flaws to work through. I was begging for these kids to figure it out, even as their painful story built their development.

This series is setting itself up to be amongst my favorite dragon books, I only wish the dragons had more of their own voices!

Wow. This had everything I was hoping for in the second book. An expansion of political intrigue, more difficult choices and moral ambiguity, another (great) POV, dragon fight scenes, further character development, and suspense. My heart was actually pounding in the last 75 pages! I absolutely cannot wait to start the final book.

Flamefall by Rosario Munda is an absolute triumph in the realm of fantasy literature. This sequel not only lives up to the high bar set by its predecessor but surpasses it in many ways. Once again, the plot is a magnetic force, tugging at your curiosity and keeping you enthralled from the first page to the last. The resilience of Annie and Lee, our beloved protagonists, is nothing short of inspiring. Their growth throughout the series is a testament to the strength of the human spirit.

What sets Flamefall apart, however, is the emotional connection it fosters between the reader and its characters. The challenges they face, the love they share, the friendships they forge, and the losses they endure all resonate deeply. It feels like your own heartbreak, your own triumph, your own journey.

Munda's mastery of storytelling is evident in how she keeps you hungrily turning pages, racing to unravel the mysteries of the world she's crafted. Flamefall is a poignant and powerful continuation of a series that has carved a permanent place in my heart. It's a must-read for anyone who craves richly developed characters and an immersive, unforgettable story.

Not me reading the last 10% in public and trying to contain my shock and stress because OMG PANIC!!! THINGS !! HAPPENED !! so yeah definitely did not see the ending coming, really liked the plot events but the book was a bit too slow for my liking and I kept wanting to think Lee's head, about to inhale the enxy book.
