I also haven't encountered a book that made me recoil on such a personal level to a purposed action. Like, a fight on sight idea is put forward.
Picking right up from "Fireborne" we deal with the fallout. Annie is now First Rider of the air core, Lee doesn't hide his heritage anymore but has some revelations about his survival. We get a new POV in Griff, a dragonrider for New Pythos basically forced to fight by the exiled lords (but he basically gets to do part of my dream job so can he complain? Yea, it's not a great situation). Things are coming to a boil as food shortages and the class system clash. And since the third book is already our it means everything is fine right?
Christian Coulson, Candice Moll, and Aidan Kelly narrate the different POVs as they make poor decisions and grow.
Reasons to read:
-The world expands, I bet there is a good map that I don't see when consuming the audio
-Characters grow and come to some health realizations
-Strong argument against tier based class system
-Dragons do a frolic
Cons:
-Suffers from a bit of "just talk you dumbasses"
-Huge violations of the Five Freedoms for creatures
-Triggering to me on a zookeeping level
Moderate: Animal cruelty
