Nothing Ever Happens Here by Seraphina Nova Glass Review⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A small town thriller full of suspense with hilllarious but engaging characters.
The story weaves a complex mystery, utilizing multiple points of view, including those of Shelby, Mack, and Florence.
The reader navigates the information to try and understand what happened to a missing man and an unknown assailant who is terrorizing the towns residents.
What I loved most about this book was that there is a group of older residents who have a podcast and seem to be tech savvy and are on the case. They are hilarious, and although the key points of the book are dark, there are so many funny points keeping it light.
In essence, the book delivers a thrilling experience with memorable characters, making it a worthwhile read for those who enjoy small town suspense novels full unexpected twists, and turns.

Holyyy Monkeys. I'm so glad I listened to this on audio. The chapters were told by different characters (and there were a lot!) but with different voices it was easy to distinguish them and know who was talking. The voice actors did a phenomenal job in making this an easy to digest listen. I was immediately hooked by the first chapter and ended up listening to the whole thing in one day. You know it's a good book when you start looking for chores to do so that you can listen to your audiobook in peace LOL One of the things I loved the most about the book were the emotions that were portrayed: the fear, the anxiety, the anger, the protectiveness, and even the feeling of being invisible once you are elderly. The author did a great job putting those feelings into words, and the voice actors did a great job of portraying those emotions. After the first chapter, I knew there would be a lot of twists. It was a wonderfully fraught and anxious adventure.
Set in a small town in Minnesota where it is a badge of honor to not have to lock your door, something terrible has happened. Mack's husband has disappeared and her best friend Shelby was attacked in her restaurant. As the months after the incident pass, Mack starts learning more about her husband. He has spent all their savings and put them in debt by a gambling problem he had hidden. As she digs and finds out all the dirt on her husband, she has to start wondering the same thing the town is whispering about behind her back. Did he attack Shelby and run off to start another life and abandon her? And then the attacks start back up and as more residents start to die, she knows she has to figure this out to stop them, because they have to be connected.

This book was just meh 😕. Nothing to exciting, story line didn’t really do it for me.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for a copy of this 🎧 audio ARC.
I think this had a lot of potential, but to me the pacing was kind of hard to keep up with. There were points where I was excited and left on a cliff hanger, and other points where there was a lag in the plot. I do agree with the reviews that state there are a lot of characters, which at times left me super confused for the first half of the book.
I did love the group of senior citizen friends and their plot line. It was a great addition! I really liked how the lives of all 3 main characters wove into each other at the end. This is my first of this author and I am a little curious to look into her others.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in multiple POVs and how a suspenseful mystery takes over a small town and intertwines into everyone’s lives.
