An unusual Agatha Christie novel that goes quite against her usual method of mystery story. The fact that there is only one murder, and that it happens almost right before the end, is a perfect example of this. That being said, that didn’t make this unenjoyable. I actually found it far more interesting of a read with how different and more intricate it all was compared to some of her other works.
This is one of my mum’s all time favourites of Agatha Christie and I can see why. Not personally one of my favourites, but definitely high up there in opinion of her better works.
Side thoughts:
• I can’t stand girls like Elvira. Just using everyone and then blaming it on their bad upbringing. You choose what sort of person you become.
• Malinowski is a CREEP
• Chief-Inspector Davy is a literal darling and must be looked after

Bertram's Hotel is a place that reminds people of Old British charm. It is bustling and seems to know exactly what each guest needs or wants. It hosts an eclectic cast of characters at any given moment. One of the guests is Miss Marple who was sent to London for a holiday by her nephew, Raymond. Despite Miss Marple's keen eye and penchant for eavesdropping, she does not figure into this mystery story very much. She's not a major player in the solving of what is happening at Bertram's Hotel. There's a lot going on in this particular story and it felt convoluted. I didn't hate it, far from that, but I didn't feel very warm toward it and was rather glad to get to the end.
