A solidly enjoyable Miss Marple book.

I'm finding that I tend to enjoy Miss Marple books a little less than some of Christie's others. Miss Marple is rarely a very big part of the novel and they seem to be more predictable/solvable for me (not a huge deal, but I do miss the aha-that-is-so-clever moment).

But, I really like Miss Marple as a character and I did enjoy this mystery.

A fairly engrossing Agatha Christie. Rather slow to start, and more predictable than many of Christie's better mysteries. She does do a very good job of "creating" Bertram's Hotel for the reader - the descriptions really pull you in. I also wanted more Miss Marple - the "Father" creator took up too much of the book, as did Canon Pennysomething or other.

I saw a tv version of it several years ago - don't remember it too well, but I believe it was a very different story.

I liked what she was trying to do with this one, but it wasn't my favorite.  There are a lot of characters and side plots happening, which made it a little confusing to follow.

Miss Marple is present, but as a side character.
