Wow. What an ending. This final book was so incredibly good. I often find that the last book on a trilogy falls flat, but that was not the case here at all. Our characters learned so much about themselves in this book and I truly think that changed them into better versions of themselves in the end. Especially Jenny. She was already pretty remarkable, but I think she found things black and white whereas toward the end she could see that it wasnt always the case. Things are shades or grey. Like julian. He taught her and the others so much about life and although it wasnt all good, I think they appreciated how he left his mark on the world. What a wild ride. I'm sad it's over.

This series actually surprised me with how good it was. Although the 3 books basically rehashed the same plot ("let's play a game" a la Saw), it was done really well. The characters were all lovable and Julien was an interesting villain, I just wish the author hashed him out a bit more. It was so plot-driven that I still had a lot of questions about Julien by the end. The horror elements were done really well: disturbing (for YA), while not being over the top. A pretty solid YA series that's a bit different from what I usually read.

And now I have finished the trilogy. A very enjoyable tale, that amazingly makes you think about being you. So, a great story for teens. Be your own master -- something I think too many forget (and I include myself...I did a whole lot of following when I was younger)

All in all, a great read.

Jenny chose the wrong man. Tom is a wet blanket of a boyfriend and she could’ve had JULIEN. Ugh. 4/5 I will make my father read this series lol.

My favorite of the series. My only problem was that i dearly wanted Jenny to end up with Julian. Again, I know hes the bad guy but I can't help it. He was the character with the most depth. Every other character had an area and they pretty much stayed in it. Dee was the tough, fight back chick. Audrey was the pretty cheerleader type. Zach the odd ball artist. Jenny the sweet girl next door...but Julian was different. He was a shadow, so technically evil but he saved Summer. He loved Jenny, true evil can't love. Plus he sacrificed himself when he could have just given the other shadows Tom(which is what should have happened...tom would have gladly gone too grr)

The cover of these books look terrible, but trust me this series was so much fun especially if you like characters that put the 'hot' in psychotic.

I read this series over 20 years ago, but I remember being so into it. Julian was probably one of my first fictional crushes.

a very pensive, contemplative addition to the trilogy, it made me very sad but I also don't think it could have ended another way? truly why i love beauty and the beast tho, because it is kind of no fun when u can't have the monster boy!
