First Lie Wins by Ashley Elston

I'm gonna be honest, I was so bored. Maybe the book would've picked up, but I was like 30-40% through and there was still nothing happening but long explanations about how she was spying on her boyfriend and finding almost nothing. I didn't make it that far, so take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I've heard from people who DID finish that the end was overwhelming, so I don't know...

This book was not long but boy did it feel long.

It felt like somehow nothing happened the first 60% but the last 40% was good! I loved the ending!

I think the book was in the middle. Was able to keep up with the flashbacks and basics what got the main character where she is today. I did enjoy the twist especially the “Luca” twist. Mr. Smith was definitely playing games but no matter what she handle them curve balls wells. Now Ryan i was a little shocked by. All in all im glad the character got what she always wanted. Just sucked that her mom could be around. This would make a decent movie on Hulu or Netflix.

This story had a tame, even progression, but I liked the main character and her way of thinking. While it is an incredibly calculated and manipulating way of thinking, it’s still impressive to read from her perspective. It makes me wish I was more clever. The story has a nice ending, with everything wrapped up in a neat bow. It wasn’t overly exciting, but it did keep me reading to see what would happen next.
