If you like the band The Arkells, this is a fantastic read. If you've never heard of the band or Max, maybe avoid.

As a big fan (seeing them in a week) I enjoyed this thoroughly.

Not for me, but a solid, considered memoir/self-help journey of a rock musician who shares how he keep sand nurtures his creativity and drive.

A fun & easy read filled with stories from Arkells past and present that reveal relevant life lessons.

I hope this book is a small reminder that the act of participating-or continuing to find new ways to participe- is the point.

Try Hard is 70% band memoir and 30% casual chat about creativity. I am an Arkells fan which prompted me to pick this up in the first place but I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in seriously pursuing their own passions and creative pursuits.
