Good start for this new series

I enjoyed this book a lot but the beginning did feel a bit disjointed until I discovered that Gabe and Josh had met each other in a previous short story.

However, there was some exposition given in this, enough to get past the confusion, and then it became an interesting mystery story running alongside the romance.

I liked that both men bucked trends, apologised when they'd made mistakes and eventually talked about where to take their relationship.

The mystery was unexpected and quite well done although perhaps one affair too many in the believability.

The conclusion of the murder mystery was kinda ridiculous. The sex scenes were hot. There were some problematic notions on femininity, but overall, it was a good read.

I just cannot stand how unnaturally their relationships are developing. I'm so over all that tsundere shit after reading tons of yaoi manga - I don't want it anymore, I can't stand it anymore. They don't even give us a good reason that would explain it.

This is an adorable romance with a strong “enemies” to lover trope. I really enjoyed the characters and the chemistry they have with each other. However, the mystery portion of the plot was a bit weak and the writing style needs some work. Overall, a very decent and easy read, and an interesting start to a well-loved series.

I'm just spoiled by good romance/crime books, so this one unfortunately didn't do it for me... Too much drama and not enough emotional growth for my liking. Sex was hot, but that's all. Better than prequel (0.5) though.
