It's really hard to sustain the quality of a lengthy series. This book was a disappointment to me. I loved the world building the author set up in the beginning books, This book felt bloated. There were obviously multiple side plots setting up not only future books in this series but a new angel one. And Paris, the hero, felt like he had a personality transplant from his persona in earlier books. The heroine spent most of the book as a whiny dishrag, and then somewhat redeemed herself in a final battle scene.
I will probably try the authors new angel series, even though angels aren't my favorite. Not good that the side character was more intriguing to me than the hero of the one I'm reading!

Gotta tell you, I thought I was done with Paris, and his whining, and his whoring ways. But this book was FABULOUS!!!! I read it because of course I'm in LOVE with the series, but did not really expect to enjoy it, cause like I said, Paris has been on my shit list since 2 books ago, but OMG!!!! It was awesome!! Completely unexpected and by the end I was speechless. 2 thumbs up for The Darkest Seduction. Can't wait for the next book.[b:The Darkest Seduction|9995135|The Darkest Seduction (Lords of the Underworld, #9)|Gena Showalter|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1316891535s/9995135.jpg|14889975]
It seems to me Paris really wanted Sienna cause she was the only one he could be with more than once.
More than 5 stars and Top Read 2012.
Another must read for Lords of The Underworld fans. And for you who dying to read Paris's story. Wonder if he finally find his ladylove that manage to make his hard twice, but then die and Cronus ressurect and make her Keeper of Wrath, Sienna Blackstone. And being faithful. Commitment and Paris. Two words that against each other.
Gena put S to SUPERB and this book is epic. With capital E. Once again she prove the reasons why she will always be my favorite authors. The ending make me wonder if her new series Angel of The Dark with the first book [b:Wicked Nights|12900491|Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark, #1)|Gena Showalter|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1320067374s/12900491.jpg|18054770] coming in the end of June (woohoo!!) is the bridge for the new arc of Lords of The Underworld saga. Either way, I can't wait to read her new installment.
And Paris of course officially become one of my nom-nom boyfriends ;)
Read my review below for the cover :) (yeah I do review for the cover too, not just the story, LOL!)
UPDATE :
Alright! Gena already announced it in her web so the cover and the blurb are OFFICIAL!!
PRETTTEEEHHH!! :P
My thought about this :
- I'm glad Paris paired with Sienna, not to another chick. I'm almost afraid if Gena will make new heroine for Paris, and I think its not the best turn ever. Readers will mad, trust me =P (Gena mention she plan to make another heroine for Paris in her blog, but glad Paris so stubborn to have Sienna. WTG, Paris!!)
- Sienna..look sexy! I know she look usual and homey, not attractive when she first appear at Lucien's book, The Darkest Kiss. But look at her now, possessed by Wrath (no spoiler here, if you are LOTU fans), she will make one of sexy winged heroine ever. Of course she might have a better personalities to make readers love her.
- Paris...ummm, I'm a little bit disappointed to not see Paul Marron here, but *cough2* models cover not just him, right? Not so favorite for this version of Paris. They do his hair wrong! His hair is several different colors, like brown, bronze, and gold (thanks for Jen from RedHotBooks for the head up). Its more like dark brown, IMO. (or they can't captured his hair color?) And his chin not chiseled enough. But the rest are pretty well-done..
- Something that bugged me, why both of them wear jeans?? I can understand about Sienna, but Paris? Are hero in PNR and UF genre supposed to wear leather pants, long black coats, and long hair, sooo pretty, it can be the result from H*rbal Essence shampoo?? => forgive me for my addictive to PNR..and no, I don't like men with long hair...
- Paris's butterfly tattoo are wrong. Its not located at his upper arm but his lower back (thanks to Megan for tell me about this).. Maybe because the model pose are hug Sienna like that, and they don't want miss the tattoo, so the solution are like that. Huh, boo! =(
- Paris are Keeper of Promiscuity who need sex in regular basis to survive. But I doubt this book will have so many sex scenes or Sienna and Paris act like busy bunnies. We don't want this book turn to be erotica, right? (Not that I'm complaining, tho =P)
The last words... THIS IS THE BEST COVER AT LOTU AND I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THEIR STORY!!! BRING IT ON, GENA!! =D

This was a long anticipated story that lived up to my expectations and then some. great new direction for the series and a new spin off! Yay!
I love the LoTU series! With that said I didn't really care for this book! I couldn't seem to get into it like the others and I felt like it was dragged out. Which is to bad because I was really looking forward to Paris' story. I really hope she isn't done with the series though because I'd love to read more about Torin, Kane, William, and even Cameo! I am looming forward to the reading about the angels! So I look forward to that!

The Darkest Seduction is the ninth book in Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series. I first read this when it was released back in 2012 and loved it, and I loved it even more when I decided to reread it this year (2023). Paris and Sienna’s story will always be a favorite of mine, and the book cover will always be one of my favorites in the series, too.
Paris is possessed by the Demon of Promiscuity, which means he has to sleep with a new woman whenever his demon requires it, and he can’t sleep with the same woman again; otherwise, he’ll get sick from it. The only woman he suspects he can be with more than once is Sienna, and he suspects it’s due to her being his mate. The issue is she was a hunter when she was alive, and she’s been dead for a while, at least that is what he thought, until he found out Cronus, the King of the Titans, has kept her captive and given her the demon of Wrath that his friend, Aeron used to have. Paris will do anything to save Sienna, even sleeping with a Goddess or two to find out what he has to do to retrieve her from Cronus’s grasp. Paris doesn’t like what he has to do and is ashamed of it, but he’ll do anything to be with Sienna and prove he can be with her more than once.
Poor Sienna has to live life with a demon inside her now due to Cronus, who she can’t stand, and she wants to leave but can’t. The worst part of it all is no one can see her except Cronus, Paris, and a few others, such as an angel named Zacharel, who has his own agenda when it comes to Paris and Sienna’s story. I love when Gena throws in twists and turns in her stories and I knew right away that she was probably setting up new characters and possibly a new series because the angels were showing up a lot in the Lords of the Underworld books.
Here are my thoughts on the book and why I gave it five stars the first time and now the second time after reading it.
- Paris and his determination to save Sienna from Cronus and his plans, even though he should be hesitant since she used to be a hunter, but he didn’t care. He put his buddies in their place whenever they talked bad about her. I know he did some things in order to retrieve her that he was even ashamed of, but just remember, his demon makes him do it. He changes once he’s with Sienna, completely.
- Sienna was an FMC I didn’t expect to like due to what she did to Paris before, but she was possessed with Wrath. She found out the truth and didn’t align with the Hunters. She played a major part in the story that wasn’t expecting and redeemed herself in my opinion. She was a kick-butt heroine and may have taken the top spot from Anya, which is hard to do since I love Anya, but Sienna can wield a sword like no other.
- I loved getting to know the Angel, Zacharel, and knew he was up to something when it came to Paris and Sienna.
- I loved that I got more of William’s POV and that he has another big secret that is revealed in this book. He also helps when it comes to Ashlyn and that’s all I’m going to say on that because I don’t want to give anything away.
- The steamy moments between Paris and Sienna were off the charts, which I already knew would be the case. It did take some time for Paris and Sienna to give in to each other, but that’s due to their pasts and Paris’s demon.
The first time I read this book, I was sleep-deprived because I had a hard time putting it down. I didn’t sleep-deprived myself when I read it a second time, but that’s because I have the audiobook version of it this time. When I wasn’t reading it, I was listening to it, and I love that Max Bellmore is the narrator for this series. He brings the story to life in my ears, and I highly recommend the audiobooks to this series.
I could go on and on about this book and how much I enjoyed it, but I don’t want to give anything away. I’m so glad I reread this book because it made me realize how much I will always love Paris and Sienna.

A love for all ages. A battle between good and evil. A glimpse into William and The Four horseman. This book had it all.

No kidding. Read it for an author event.
Bonus: the Kobo edition has Gena's notes strewn throughout. It's a pretty cool feature.
